Financial Giving
“According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building on it. Each builder must choose with care how to build on it. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ.”
~ 1 Corinthians 3:10-11
There are many ways to make financial gifts to St. Mark's. We strive to make giving easy for the donor, whether through one-time cash gifts, recurring contributions, annual pledges, contributions of stocks, planned gifts, and more.

Out of gratitude
As Christians, we give financially to our church out of gratitude. God has been generous to us in the life and work of Jesus Christ. Returning a portion of our financial resources is a sign of our gratitude to God.
Stewardship of our resources
With God’s help, St. Mark's Episcopal Church transforms lives for the sake of Jesus. In order to raise money for this transformational work, St. Mark's asks its members to make financial pledges. A pledge is an amount of money that you promise to give to God through St. Mark's for the year.
The Tithe
Tithing is defined as giving one-tenth of your annual resources to the mission and ministry of the church. This is a lofty goal, and can be difficult to reach. Many people choose to start at a lower percentage, and work their way toward a tithe over the course of many years.
Your Part
As baptized ministers of St. Mark's, we ask you to make a financial pledge to the mission and ministry of this church. You may return the enclosed pledge card by bringing it to the church office or placing it in the offering plate on a Sunday morning. Please prayerfully and faithfully consider responding to God’s generosity through a financial commitment to St. Mark's.
ONLINE GIVING FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Can I use my debit card, credit card, or my bank account number?
Absolutely! You can use debit and credit cards, or you could use your bank account number for online checks.
Q. Can I make a single donation or set up a recurring donation?
Both. If you wish to make a recurring gift, check the box saying “Make This Gift Recurring,” then either sign in to your account or create a new one by clicking “Register For an Account.” Set a frequency and a start date, complete your donation, and you’re done!
Q. How can I keep a record of the amount I have contributed?
You’ll receive a receipt via email each time you make a donation. If you create an account though, you can just log in and see your donation history and manage any recurring gifts you have scheduled. At the start of next year, we’ll also prepare a year end giving statement for you.
Q. When is the automatic contribution charged to my account?
When you set up a recurring gift schedule, you’ll select how often you’d like your donation to be deducted (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually). These recurring gifts you set up will not have an end date and will be active until you choose to delete it. You may set up as many recurring gift schedules as you’d like, so it’s possible to give a monthly gift as well as a weekly one. Contributions scheduled on Friday through Sunday may show up “pending” until early the following week.
Q. What if I want to change my online giving schedule or stop it?
You can log in and cancel your recurring gift schedule at any time.
Q. Who do I talk to if I have more questions?
Shoot an email to office@stmarksfortbend.org and we can help!
We rely on your financial pledges! You may drop your check off at the church office, put it in the offering plate on Sunday or you can mail it to us. Also, consider setting up bill pay through your bank (we can advise you on this). You are also able to process online giving through Paypal with your bank or credit card.
